When monitoring your body composition with Tanita Body Composition Monitors, you are able to track your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).

BMR is a very useful tool as it indicates the number of calories your body needs to function at total rest over 24 hours. Your Metabolism is dictated by many factors which include, gender, age, muscle mass and your general physical activity on regular basis.

It is important to monitor your BMR as it will give you a good indication of the minimum number of calories you need to consume. This calculation is based on the amount of lean muscle tissue you carry and how much you exercise.

With this in mind the more muscle you carry and exercise you do the higher your BMR will be. In turn this means you require more calories. It is important to monitor your BMR because when it changes you will need to adjust to dietary requirements accordingly.

We are also please to be able to offer online demonstration of the MC-780MA and BC-420MA monitors. If you would like to see this equipment in use please let us know.
